Odoo Multi Warehouse Distribution, Inventory Optimization and Automated Fulfillment for a Global FMCG Enterprise

The client was a global fast moving consumer goods manufacturer handling thousands of high demand SKUs across multiple regions. Their distribution network consisted of national warehouses, regional distribution centers, retail ready storage hubs, cross docking stations and special temperature controlled facilities. Despite having a large scale infrastructure, their operations suffered from fragmented inventory data, inconsistent stock levels, slow replenishment cycles and significant delays in order fulfillment. The primary challenge was the lack of real time visibility across all warehouses which caused discrepancies between system stock and actual on ground inventory counts. Due to rapidly changing consumer demand patterns, many items reached stockout situations while others remained idle, occupying valuable storage space. Their replenishment planning relied on outdated forecasts which did not react to live sales trends or seasonal shifts.Order fulfillment involved excessive manual coordination between warehouse teams, logistics partners and retail distributors. Dispatch teams often released shipments without correct documentation or precise allocation, leading to delivery errors, increased transportation cost and compliance issues. The company also struggled to trace product batches throughout the supply chain which posed serious risks related to product recalls or quality assurance. Perishable goods were especially vulnerable because they required FIFO based handling, expiry tracking and rapid movement through the distribution chain. Multiple departments used isolated tools which made it difficult for the management to access consolidated reporting and supply chain performance insights. Leadership required a unified Odoo solution to optimize multi warehouse operations, automate replenishment, accelerate fulfillment and provide full traceability across all distribution layers.

Orbiixa delivered a comprehensive Odoo Multi Warehouse and Supply Chain Automation System designed to support the client’s global FMCG distribution network. We created a consolidated warehouse management architecture that allowed real time stock monitoring across all local and international warehouses. Automated replenishment algorithms were implemented using smart minimum level rules, demand forecasting and location specific consumption patterns. This ensured that each warehouse received materials precisely when needed, eliminating both stockouts and overstock scenarios.A complete batch and lot traceability system was deployed to track product lifecycle from raw material intake to finished goods distribution. For perishable products, we developed expiry driven FIFO workflows that ensured rapid movement of goods while minimizing wastage. Cross docking workflows were configured for time sensitive SKUs to reduce handling and speed up distribution. Pick path optimization was implemented using zone based routing and cluster picking techniques that significantly reduced travel time within the warehouse.To accelerate fulfillment, Orbiixa designed a fully automated order wave planning engine that segmented orders based on priority, region, vehicle capacity, SKU type and expected delivery windows. We integrated logistics partners directly into the Odoo environment enabling them to receive shipment details, generate routing sheets, update delivery statuses and capture digital proof of delivery. For compliance and global distribution documentation, Orbiixa implemented automated invoice creation, shipping labels, pallet tags, load manifests and export documentation workflows. Management dashboards were built to display warehouse KPIs, fill rate, stock age, service levels, demand variance, replenishment cycles and distribution cost structures.The entire supply chain system was deployed on Krazio Cloud ensuring high speed data processing and multi region accessibility with strong security and scalability.
